Maybe it’s time to add vintage arcade machines to my growing list of tech repairs!
A client reached out with a classic arcade unit that had gone completely dark—no signs of life, no power, just a silent screen where pixelated chaos should be. After a bit of diagnostics earlier in the week, I dropped by for a quick intervention to get things humming again.
The solution involved:
- 🔧 Rewiring the on/off switch
- 🔌 Swapping out the PSU (power supply unit)
- ⚙️ Tweaking key software settings for stability
- And cloning the HDD to an SSD for quicker performance, and logetivity.
Result? One happy machine—and (hopefully) a bunch of happy players queueing up for it this weekend.
Problem fixed, joystick ready.
